The Transition to Residency Working Group (also known as T2R) of the UME-GME Task Force, is charged with improving students’ journeys through residency and is focused on three main areas of improvement: data collection, residency readiness, and unmatched students.

Toolkit to Support Students Re-entering the Residency Application & Match Process - This resource provides COMs with guidance and strategies to support students who did not match into residency, including tailored advising approaches and pathways to strengthen their applications for reentering the Match.
AACOM Roadmap to Transition to Residency: Response to the CPA UGRC Recommendations - This resource outlines AACOM’s roadmap for responding to the Coalition for Physician Accountability’s UGRC recommendations and identifies priority actions to improve the transition from undergraduate medical education to residency for osteopathic students.
Insights into Residency Advising: Focus Group Findings - This report summarizes focus group and survey findings from osteopathic medical students and residency advisors on the current state of residency advising and opportunities to strengthen support for the transition from UME to GME.
