The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine is housed in a modern, spacious facility designed to support every aspect of our innovative curriculum.

Our first floor is dedicated to student wellness and success, featuring the Office of Student Services, a comprehensive learning resource center, and a student lounge equipped with ample study areas, vending options, refrigerators and microwaves, and a fitness center, complete with showers and dressing rooms.

The second floor is the hub for didactic learning and team-based case discussions, offering large classrooms for first- and second-year students and numerous study rooms equipped with large screens and whiteboards.

On the third floor, students engage in hands-on training in our OMM lab, virtual reality lab, task training areas, and high-fidelity simulation spaces, as well as patient rooms, designed to refine clinical skills.

The fourth-floor houses faculty and staff, ensuring close support for learners throughout their journey.

Our secure campus spans 11 acres, enclosed by a perimeter wall, with badge-access entry to both parking areas and the building, providing a safe and focused learning environment.

Student Residence Options

There is no on-campus housing at The Valley COM. However, upon acceptance, students are provided a curated list of local apartments and rental properties. These options are offered through relationships The Valley COM has developed with area housing providers to support our students. In addition, students can network through a closed SharePoint group to find roommates or share housing opportunities.
Student Activities & Support Services

As a new institution, The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine offers students a unique opportunity to help shape the culture and community of our campus. Our inaugural class will play a vital role in developing student organizations, creating interest-based and specialty-focused groups, and building traditions that will define The Valley COM experience for years to come.

We are committed to fostering leadership and engagement, and plan to be an active participant in the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP). In addition to leadership opportunities, students will have access to academic advising, career counseling, mental health resources, and residency preparation support, ensuring success throughout their medical education.

Curricular Offerings

The Valley COM curriculum is delivered through a 4 year case-based clinical presentation curriculum model. In years 1 and 2, courses are intentionally integrated with group learning and experiential learning allowing for time for self-directed learning. In years 3 and 4, while on clinical rotations, students will engage in weekly synchronous virtual didactic learning. This four-year curricular model provides a framework to build critical and clinical reasoning skills, effective communication and interprofessional teamwork skills, as well as, professional identity development.

Students will engage in experiential learning for the basic and osteopathic clinical sciences through a variety of curricular opportunities including, but not limited to, innovative high-fidelity mannikin based simulation, virtual anatomy, osteopathic medical skills labs, clinical skills training, standardized patients, interprofessional education experiences, and through the medical humanities.

Professional identity development is a curricular course aligned with weekly integrated cases and focuses on areas such as Lifestyle Medicine, public and community health, health systems sciences, visual and performing arts, and ethics and medical jurisprudence.

Additional Key Components of The Valley COM Curriculum:

  • Curricular based structured preparation to support key milestones, including COMLEX Level 1 preparation, COMLEX Level 2 preparation, and residency readiness.
  • Longitudinal research coursework with a required capstone project
  • The COMPass Program, an engaged advising and coaching program for student support
  • A strong focus on student wellbeing and professional identity development formation

Applicants who successfully pass the initial screening process will be invited to schedule and attend an Interview Day. Participation in Interview Day is mandatory for admission and serves as a two-way evaluation: The evaluation process assesses whether the applicant is a strong fit for The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine, while the applicant has the opportunity to determine if The Valley COM aligns with their goals and values.

The Admissions Committee conducts a holistic review of each applicant, considering academic preparation, achievements, MCAT performance, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and experiences in health care, research, and community service.
