Curricular Offerings
Students spend their first two years immersed in a rigorous, whole-person preclinical curriculum that builds a strong foundation in the basic and behavioral sciences, critical thinking, and osteopathic principles. Instruction integrates case-based, flipped, and small-group learning formats, reflecting our commitment to mentorship, proficiency, and collaboration. Please see the preclinical curricular outline below. Please note that medical school curricula are iterative and subject to change as part of ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

Clerkship/Clinical Rotations
In years 3 and 4, students transition into clinical rotations across our community and health-system partners, gaining hands-on experience in patient-centered care, interprofessional teamwork, and service to underserved populations. Approximately 60% of clinical rotations are located in Northern Colorado and Wyoming, supported by a network of over 300 physician preceptors. Clinical partners include Banner Health, Sunrise Community Health Centers, Family Physicians of Greeley, and a broad network of independent and community-based practices and hospitals.
Students may complete up to nine elective rotations, allowing them to explore specialties, secure strong letters of recommendation, and participate in audition rotations at potential GME programs through the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) program.
This clinical training experience aligns with our mission to develop caring, competent physicians who embody our values of service, inclusion, and lifelong learning, and are prepared to advance health equity in Colorado and beyond.
