ED Proposes Regulatory Agenda

- On March 23, 2023, ED announced its intent to convene negotiated rulemaking committees, April public hearings and a request for public comment. This follows an ED list previewed last fall.
- Committee topics may include TPS, distance education and state authorization. Any negotiated rulemaking will begin in the fall of 2023.
- ED must engage with the public prior to publishing any proposed regulations authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act. View FAQs.
- If you would like to attend the virtual public hearings on April 11-13, please register now. If you would like to present at the hearings, send an email to negreghearing@ed.gov.
- Public comments on any of ED’s suggested topics or additional items must be received by April 24 through an online portal listed in the announcement.
- Please share any comments or public hearing testimony with AACOM at aacomgr@aacom.org.
