MSUCOM Professor Awarded NIH Research Grant for Cancer Survivors: Professor Alla Sikorskii, PhD, of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and her research team have received a five-year $3.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop tools for cancer survivors to manage symptoms, reduce costs and improve well-being. Learn more.

Deadline Extended: HRSA Faculty Loan Repayment Program: If you are a faculty member at an osteopathic medical school, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)’s Faculty Loan Repayment Program could provide you up to $40,000 in loan repayment assistance. In exchange, you commit to two years of full- or part-time service as a faculty member at an eligible school. The application now closes Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 7:30 PM ET. Apply now.

Last Chance to Apply for HRSA’s STAR Loan Repayment Plan: If you are a behavioral health clinician or support worker, clinical support staff or trained in substance use disorders, you can apply to the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) and receive up to $250,000 in loan repayment. In exchange, you must work full-time for six years in a STAR LRP-approved facility. The application closes Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 7:30 PM ET. Apply now.

Application Closing for HRSA Medical Student Education Program: Eligible osteopathic medical schools may now apply for HRSA’s Medical Student Education Program, which prepares and encourages medical students to choose residencies and primary care careers in rural, tribal or medically underserved communities. Priority is given to applications from universities in states with the greatest number of federally recognized tribes and from public universities with demonstrated private-public partnerships. HRSA anticipates awarding $48 million to approximately 12 grantees over the course of four years.
