AACOM’s Osteopathic Health Policy Internship Now Accepting Applications: Join AACOM's Osteopathic Health Policy Internship (OHPI) Program—an exclusive eight-week virtual opportunity designed for osteopathic medical students. Dive into federal healthcare and higher education policy with AACOM's Government Relations department, gaining hands-on experience in policy development, analysis and implementation at the national level. Applications are due Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET. Letters from institutional leadership are encouraged. Funding Opportunity: Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program: The Health Resources and Services Administration is awarding up to $1,000,000 for the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program to address the gap in care for older adults by educating and training healthcare professionals through partnerships with primary care sites and community organizations. The program aims to provide geriatric clinical training to students, residents and other health professionals intent on practicing in tribal, underserved and/or rural areas. The recipients will explore training programs that provide its workforce with the knowledge and skills to improve the care of older adults, especially those living with dementia. Apply by February 26, 2024.

Office of Minority Health Accepting Applications for Year-Long Fellowship: The Office of Minority Health is accepting applications for its Health Equity Leadership Development Initiative. Sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services, the one-year residential fellowship program in Washington, DC aims to develop future leaders in public health and health equity. Develop knowledge in health policy and learn strategies to address health disparities in communities under the mentorship of those with federal leadership experience. Applications are due January 16, 2024.
