After aiming to finalize all 12 FY25 appropriations bills before breaking for August recess, the Senate Appropriations Committee was able to report out 11 of the bills with the markup of the Energy and Water, Defense, Labor-HHS-Education and Financial Services bills on August 1. The Homeland Security bill is the only remaining bill and was dropped ahead of time from the markup.
Both chambers intend to reference the work they completed in their respective committees, rather than relying on bills passing through the full chamber, in the upcoming bicameral funding negotiations when they return from August recess on September 9.
