2021-22 Osteopathic Medical College Total Enrollment by Gender and Race/Ethnicity

Enrollment Gender Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Research Reports Students Trends

Total enrollment for academic year 2021-22 is 35,177. This is an increase of 1,563 enrollees or 4.6 percent when compared to total enrollment for academic year 2020-21. 

Male enrollment increased by 67 enrollees or 0.4 percent while female enrollment increased by 1,485 enrollees or 9.0 percent since academic year 2020-21. There was an increase of 11 enrollees for the undisclosed category when compared to academic year 2020-21.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for academic year 2021-22 is 10.8 percent when compared to 10.4 percent for academic year 2020-21.  This overall percentage increase is attributed to enrollment growth in the following URM categories: 

  • Hispanic/Latino increased by 198 enrollees or 9.1 percent.
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic increased by 148 enrollees or 12.7 percent.
