2023-24 Osteopathic Medical College Cost of Attendance

Forty-eight private and 11 public colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs) reported data for the 2023-24 Cost of Attendance (COA) Report. Eight COMs – seven private and one public – reported a decrease in COA since the 2022-23 academic year, while three COMs – two private and one public – reported no change.  Thirteen COMs – 12 private and one public – reported a decrease in average graduate indebtedness since academic year 2022-23, while seven COMs – five private and two public – reported no change.  

Private COMs have an average total COA of $371,403, an increase of $18,828 (5.3%) since the 2022-23 COA Report; the annual average COA for private COMs is $92,851, an increase of $4,707 (5.3%).  Public COMs have an average total COA of $297,881, an increase of $10,547 (3.7%) since the 2022-23 COA Report; the annual average COA for public COMs is $74,470, an increase of $2,637 (3.7%) since the 2022-23 COA Report.  Combined, private and public COMs have an average total COA of $357,120, an increase of $14,091 (4.1%) since the 2022-23 COA Report; the annual average COA is $89,280, an increase of $3,523 (4.1%) since the 2022-23 COA Report.

The difference between private and public COMs is $73,522 (22.0%), an increase of $8,281 (12.7%) since the 2022-23 COA Report; the difference in annual average COA between private and public COMs is $18,381 (22.0%), an increase of $2,070 (12.7%) since the 2022-23 COA Report.
