Gender Graduates Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Research Reports Trends

The total for 2018-19 graduates is 6,703 which is an increase of 287 graduates or 4.5 percent since 2017-18 graduates. 

Male graduates increased by 69 graduates or 2.0 percent while female graduates increased by 209 graduates or 7.5 percent since 2017-18 graduates.  There was an increase of nine graduates for the undisclosed category when compared to 2017-18 graduates.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for 2018-19 graduates is 8.7 percent when compared to 8.2 percent for 2017-18 graduates. This overall percentage increase is attributed to growth in the following URM categories:

  • Hispanic/Latino increased by 40 graduates or 12.7 percent.
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic increased by 30 graduates or 17.4 percent.
