Name of the Resource: NEJM Interactive Cases

Website: https://resident360.nejm.org/rotation-prep/interactive-learning-resources/introduction

Brief Description:

NEJM is pleased to offer schools and students high-yield interactive learning in two formats:

1. Interactive Medical Cases are based on a real patient’s experience of illness and follow that patient from presentation through outcome. Through peer-reviewed commentary, learners receive immediate feedback on their choices and use online video and interactive materials to reinforce the learning themes and learning objectives.

2. Interactive Learning Elements are short multimedia resources that cover a specific topic (such as eosinophilia, serologic testing for hepatitis B, or acid-base disorders) in an engaging interactive format. We’ve organized these resources by level with introductory topics appropriate to many first- and second-year medical students, core topic appropriate to those in clerkship, and advanced topics available to the aspirational student. These tools can easily be used by learners independently, can be assigned to learners, or can be used by instructors in the classroom (in person or virtual), in discussion, or in-patient rounds.
