Following a successful Match season and a record year for osteopathic medical students, our community continues to build strong momentum. As we look ahead to the AACOM Educating Leaders Annual Conference, I look forward to connecting with many of you and continuing our shared work to advance osteopathic graduate medical education. 

 AACOM Celebrates Record Breaking 93.2 Percent Match Rate for DO Students 

As we reflect on the conclusion of Match Week, I am proud to share a historic achievement for osteopathic medicine. AACOM celebrates a record-breaking 93.2% Match rate for DO students in 2026—a testament to the dedication, resilience, and excellence of our future physicians. This milestone highlights the continued growth and impact of osteopathic medical education across the country. AOGME Business Meeting Rescheduled & Spotlight Series Sessions 

Please note that the AOGME Annual Business Meeting has been rescheduled to April 15 due to scheduling conflicts. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to your participation. The meeting will also feature AOGME’s Spotlight Series, highlighting programs that are actively integrating osteopathic principles into graduate medical education. These sessions offer valuable insights and an opportunity for discussion with colleagues. Access the meeting link here: https://aacom.zoom.us/j/91749605802  

 

AOGME Reception at AACOM Educating Leaders 2026 Annual Conference 

As we look ahead, I invite you to join us at the upcoming AACOM Educating Leaders 2026 annual conference in Las Vegas. AOGME will host a special AOGME reception on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30–8:30 PM at Caesars Palace. We hope you will join us for an evening of connection and celebration. Complimentary refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and beverages will be provided. AACOM-UNC GME Development Fellowship Preconference Workshop 

In addition, we are pleased to highlight the AACOM-UNC GME Development Fellowship Preconference Workshop, taking place on Tuesday, April 21, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Caesars Palace. This full-day workshop offers an interactive and practical exploration of key topics in GME development, including GME finance, scenario-based planning, case discussions, lessons learned from challenges, and strategies to overcome barriers. For your reference, the agenda is included here to provide an overview of the planned sessions. 

 

Call for Nominations for the Residents and Fellows Council Board 

Finally, I encourage residents and fellows to consider getting more involved with AOGME leadership. The AOGME Nominations Committee is currently seeking nominations for the Residents and Fellows Council (RFC) Board for a two-year term (May 2026–April 2028). Open positions include Chair, Vice-Chair, and Education Chair. Serving on the RFC Board is a valuable opportunity to help shape the experiences of residents and fellows nationwide.
