ICOM Students, Faculty Inducted into GHHS

At the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM), a select group of fourth-year medical students and faculty recently marked an especially meaningful milestone—induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS).

The ceremony celebrated 16 students and four faculty members who exemplify compassionate care, integrity and a deep commitment to serving patients with empathy and respect.

Expectant Mothers in West Africa Receive Newborn Kits Courtesy of TouroCOM Students

Students at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Middletown, New York, partnered with the global health nonprofit F.L.I.G.H.T. to assemble newborn care kits for expectant mothers in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

The initiative was part of a collaborative maternal health initiative and organized by second-year medical student Natalie Asemi, communications director for F.L.I.G.H.T. and president of the T.E.A.C.H. Review Club at TouroCOM.

“Sierra Leone continues to face one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world,” Natalie said, noting that many maternal and neonatal complications are preventable but persist due to limited access to medical supplies and healthcare resources.

Jay Feldstein Inducted as Fellow of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, DO ’81, has been elected one of 61 new fellows of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.

The Spring 2026 Fellowship class—the largest in the College’s history—includes distinguished physicians, scholars and public health leaders spanning more than 15 institutions and more than 30 specialties.

“I’m truly honored to be welcomed into this Fellowship and to join an organization with such deep roots in Philadelphia,” Dr. Feldstein said.

VCOM-Louisiana Graduates 145 New Physicians

Five graduates in academic regalia smile and hold diploma covers outdoors following a graduation ceremony.The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Louisiana Campus (VCOM-Louisiana) celebrated the graduation of its third class on May 16, 2026, honoring 145 new physicians representing 28 states and achieving a 99% residency match rate. Commencement speaker Thomas J. Gullatt, MD, FCCP, a physician leader with more than 30 years of clinical and executive experience, encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and recognize the lasting impact they will have beyond the exam room. As they begin residencies across the country, the Class of 2026 carries forward VCOM-Louisiana’s mission to serve communities through osteopathic medicine.

CHSU Honors Its Largest Cohorts of Medical School and Master’s Program Graduates

CHSU marked another historic milestone with 171 graduates this year, which is the largest cohort for both its medical school and master’s program to date.

The Class of 2026 represents CHSU’s continued commitment to educating future physicians and healthcare leaders who will serve communities throughout the Central Valley and across California. Graduates, faculty, families and supporters gathered to celebrate the achievements and dedication of the soon-to-be resident physicians and future healthcare professionals.

Three individuals stand on stage holding a ceremonial check for $30,000 during AACOM’s Educating Leaders conference in Las Vegas.Faculty from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) have earned national recognition and a $30,000 award through the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) All In! Vegas Pitch Showdown, held at AACOM’s annual conference in April 2026.

The VCOM team was selected as a top innovator among osteopathic medical schools for its approach to technology-enabled medical education.

The team has directed the award to support AAICE Labs, part of the Alabama Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AAICE), a long-standing VCOM partner.
