2020-21 Osteopathic Medical College First-Year Enrollment by Gender and Race/Ethnicity

Enrollment Gender Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Research Reports Students Trends

First-year enrollment for academic year 2020-21 is 9,433. This is an increase of 628 enrollees when compared to first-year enrollment for academic year 2019-20. 

Male enrollment increased by 132 enrollees or 3.0 percent while female enrollment increased by 494 enrollees or 11.2 percent since academic year 2019-20. There was only an increase of two enrollees for the undisclosed category when compared to academic year 2019-20.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for academic year 2020-21 is 11.1 percent when compared to 10.7 percent for academic year 2019-20.  This overall percentage increase is attributed to enrollment growth in the following URM categories: 

  • Hispanic/Latino increased by 55 enrollees or 9.3 percent.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native, non-Hispanic increased by 17 enrollees or 89.5 percent.
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic increased by 35 enrollees or 11.2 percent.
  • Pacific Islander, non-Hispanic increased by four enrollees or 28.6 percent.
